"Campfire" is a compilation of recollections of the author, Howard Camp. They are true accounts of events in his life. This work was accomplished at the urging of his wife, Janet, and one of his granddaughters, Elizabeth Holbrook Foster. Mr. Camp has flown many aircraft, large and small, and has amasses over 25,000 hours of flying time. He is a flight instructor, single and multi-engine, and has an instrument rating. At age 78 he still maintains his currency. He has a great love for flyig and an even greater love for the United States of America. He is one of "The Greatest Generation" and still has that sense of patriotism that so many have lost, or never had. He retired from the Air Force as a full colonel with over 33 years of active and Reserve service. He worked for NASA at Marshall Space Flight Center from which he also retired.
